MARCH FOR ANIMALS IN ZAGREB (CROATIA)

Ethics, Events

Members of our organization, Ajdin Arnautović, Maria Pehar, Nikolina Bulović and Džan Arnautović, participated in this year’s March for Animals, which took place after a four-year break, on Saturday 13 April 2024. in Zagreb.

The March for Animals was organized by Friends of Animals and Pobjede Association, with the support of members of the Animal Protection Network and other associations.

The movement for the protection and rights of animals is getting stronger and more numerous every year, both in the world and in Croatia and the countries of the region.

Animals are exploited in almost all spheres – in the entertainment industry (circuses, zoos, hunting), clothing and food production, and testing in laboratories.

Although domestic animals seem to be in a slightly better position than others, they still suffer in large numbers, because people neglect, abandon and abuse them.

The organizers point out that institutions and competent bodies have repeatedly shown negligence and lack of interest in improving the situation. They say that legal regulations should be more responsibly implemented, and many should be significantly improved.

This year’s March for Animals was even more attended and louder in the fight for those who cannot raise their voice for their rights.
About 400 people marched through the capital of Croatia, with inscriptions on banners and slogans demanding greater protection of animals and recognition of their rights.

Associations and people from all over the region (Serbia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina) came to support their comrades in Croatia and to give a voice to those who do not have one, but also to exchange experiences and establish cooperation in order to make this world a better place.

VivaBiH stood by those who were deprived of their basic rights, joined like-minded people and were part of the growing movement for non-violence and justice!

Well done to the organizers for the march and the invitation to participate and be a part of this story.

We believe that next year even more people from our organization and from Bosnia and Herzegovina will attend. See you!
